Illorai's patron saint feast: two days of religious rites, music and a community gathered from all over the world in honour of the patron.
On 25 October Illorai celebrates its patron, San Gavino Martire, venerated with deep faith by the community. Gavino, with Proto and Gianuario, was martyred at Porto Torres in the 4th century: they are the protomartyrs of Turris.
The programme, curated by a committee made up largely of the village's young people, joins religious worship and civil festivities: the solemn mass, the procession through the streets accompanied by the sound of the launeddas, the songs of the tradition.
The evenings continue in the square with live music, Sardinian dances and moments of conviviality that reunite those who live in Illorai and those who come back from every corner of the world for the patron's feast.
